about Rockella Space
Rockella Space was founded in 2017 out of a personal need for an affordable, dedicated artist studio.
What started as a practical solution has grown into a multi-location creative ecosystem across New York City, supporting artists, designers, makers, and creative entrepreneurs who are serious about their work.
We understand firsthand what it takes to sustain a practice in this city. Rockella exists to make that possible.
what drives us
Rockella is built on one core idea: space shapes practice.
We provide the conditions for focused, consistent work because, without space, there is no output. Without output, there is no growth.
This is not about hobbyists. Rockella supports people who are committed to showing up, building something, and pushing their work forward.
where we are
Rockella Space operates across three locations in New York City:
- Midtown Manhattan
- Ridgewood, Queens
- Brownsville, Brooklyn
Each building has its own character, but all are part of a connected network of working creatives across the city.
our community
Rockella is home to a broad range of disciplines:
- Fine artists (painting, sculpture, photography)
- Tattoo artists and body workers
- Fashion and textile designers
- Independent curators and galleries
- Fabricators and multidisciplinary makers
What connects them is not the medium — it’s the mindset. This is a community of people who take their work seriously.
programs & partnerships
Rockella’s public-facing programming is driven by RRASP (opens in a new tab) (Residency & Partnership Programs), an initiative that brings external collaborators into the space through:
- Residencies
- Exhibitions
- Workshops & Public Programs
RRASP extends the studio beyond private practice, creating opportunities for exchange, visibility, and engagement.
what we’re building
Rockella is not just a place to rent a studio. It’s a platform for building a sustained creative life through space, community, and access to opportunity.
The goal is simple: create the conditions for people to do their best work — and to keep doing it.
