About The Exhibition
Jester examines gender as a performance, featuring exclusively works created by trans artists. We are the fool, the mime, the entertainer—taught to silence ourselves but display our bodies for consumption. This exhibition is a reclamation of our identity as the clown. It’s a celebration of the grotesque and beautiful ways that a mind liberated through queerness approaches creation.

Participating Artists

About the curator
Sir. is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY, hailing from somewhere between Midwestern suburbia and the middle of nowhere. They’ve been a lover of the arts since attending home art classes in Louisville, KY at the ripe age of five, exploring mediums from clay to costume design and earning the prestigious and elusive “Jack of All Trades” high school superlative. After graduating from The Manhattan School of Music (BM, Musical Theatre), they became a part of the Brooklyn DIY art and music scene, teaching themself how to tattoo, designing graphics, and touring with local indie bands. Last year they participated in their first group show Over-Compression with Level Art Gallery. This was followed by a self produced solo exhibition entitled come look at my things, which featured a live audio-visual ambient piece made in collaboration with SQORE, originally debuted at Brooklyn Art Haus.
