“come see my things" By Sirplus Wherehouse
“come see my things.” is a self-produced solo exhibition of works created by Sir. Featuring live accompaniment by electronic ambient artist Sqore, the works will exist in space alongside their most influential soundscape, creating the feeling of stepping into a separate world. This event is free and open to the public, little refreshments provided.
ABOUT SIR
“Sir.” is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, hailing from the southern-midwestern suburbia of Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Since moving to New York to pursue a career in acting (BM, The Manhattan School of Music), they’ve gained a diverse skill set from tapdance to tattoo, building a body of work where many art practices inform one another. With an extensive background in stage performance, they create work that is present and intuitive. Their work is informed by body movement, the queer experience, textures in nature, and avant-garde electronic music. Works range anywhere from large scale painting to experimental video content to poetry—all in the pursuit of building a cast of characters within a unique artistic universe and attempting to become a modern renaissance man in the process.
