SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Urban Glass offers scholarships to support merit and need-based access to our classes. These scholarships not only provide help financially but also foster innovation and artistic growth. UrbanGlass offers two different types of scholarship opportunities; LEAP and IGNITE, which are detailed below. UrbanGlass will award one of each scholarship to the selected students once per each scholarship deadline. Both the LEAP and IGNITE scholarships provide a 100% funded class.

SHORT TERM RESIDENCY

The Art on the Block NYC is a short-term residency (3 weeks) that will take place in a NYC storefront. The artist-in-residence will have the opportunity to transform the space into both a studio and a public gallery. During that time they will not only have general visitors coming in to see their artwork and engage but will also facilitate scheduled programming for youth, families, and adults.

EXHIBITION PROPOSAL

SculptureCenter In Practice 2024 Open Call invites artists who have not yet had an institutional solo exhibition in New York City to submit proposals for solo exhibitions in designated gallery spaces at Sculpture Center.

PERFORMANCE RESIDENCY

New York Live Arts’ Fresh Tracks Residency & Performance program is a season-long residency for emerging movement-based artists in support of new work creation and professional development.

MUSIC, VISUAL ARTS, PERFORMANCE & LITERATURE GRANT

Café Royal Cultural Foundation will award an exhibition/project grant to NYC artists in music, visual arts, performance, and literature. The grant amount is $10,000.

BILLBOARD EXHIBITION

SaveArtSpace and The Untitled Space presents a public art series of billboards throughout the United States revolving around the theme of “future vision.” An accompanying exhibition will be presented at The Untitled Space gallery in New York City. All mediums are welcome. There is a $10 donation per image submission to participate.

PRODUCT OPEN CALL

UrbanGlass is seeking handmade products that reflect the creative, glass community of Brooklyn and beyond. Each submission will be reviewed by a fresh panel of art, design and retail professionals.

Through Rockaway Artists Alliance, 4heads have been granted an amazing space to exhibit. This show will focus on 2-D art on the walls and installation, sculpture, and performance in the vast middle of the space.

EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITY

Warimono invites artists to submit their works for our inaugural exhibition, Passing Glows. This exhibition celebrates the transient moments that illuminate our lives. The exhibition will run on our website from September 1 to 30, 2024.

COMMISSION

MTA Arts & Design seeks images of artists’ previous work to review in consideration for a new permanent Percent for Art project, in conjunction with improvements at Babylon Station in Suffolk County, Long Island. An approved fabricator will translate the final artwork designs into a durable medium. The artwork is projected to be realized in glass and mosiac. An artist’s prior experience with this material will not be taken into consideration when reviewing images.

GRANT FOR VISUAL ARTISTS

The Liu Shiming Art Foundation is now accepting applications for a new round of Liu Shiming Artist Grants designed to support the work of visual artists during the first decade of their careers. Up to five grants of $5,000 each will support the creation or completion of new projects.

MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Free Arts NYC empowers youth from underserved communities through art and mentoring programs to develop their creativity, confidence, and skills to succeed. From May to January, pairs meet for 1:1 sessions and group workshops. As a volunteer in the Portfolio Mentorship Program, you’ll have the opportunity to mold a young artist while developing your own skills as an artist and educator.
