EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITY

Visionary Art Collective is partnering with Warnes Contemporary Gallery in New York City to present our annual in-person juried group exhibition, Those Who Tend, curated by Kaylan Buteyn. This call is a reflection for “those who tend”—an invitation to submit work created amidst the challenges of balancing a life full of responsibilities. Artist parents who are juggling their art practice, careers, domestic tasks, caregiving, and carving out time for self-care are invited to submit their work.

EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITY

Smack Mellon seeks artwork submissions for a summer group exhibition to be guest-curated by New York City-based writer and curator Pallavi Surana.

WRITING SUBMISSION

Philadelphia Stories Fiction Contest is a national short fiction contest that features a first place $1,000 cash award and three $250 runner-up cash awards. The winner stories will be published in the print issue of the Winter/Spring 2025 issue of Philadelphia Stories.

TOUR GRANT

South Arts’ Jazz Road Tours supports small, three- to six-site tours at an array of venue types, often in rural communities and other areas traditionally underserved by the genre. Grant amounts generally range from $5,000 to $15,000. Professional jazz artists, working solo or working with a composer-led or collective jazz ensemble, are eligible to apply.

WRITERS GRANT

The goal of our Venturous Capital Grants program is to support writers of bold, experimental, and/or large-scale new plays by giving theaters the ability to say “yes” instead of “no” to writer-driven projects that are unusually heavy lifts, i.e., that are perceived as especially challenging.

The Foundation for Contemporary Arts offers Emergency Grants between $200 and $2,500 for visual and performing artists.

The goal of the NYS Choreographers Initiative is to develop and support choreographic talent in the WNY, Central NY, Capital District/North County and Hudson Valley/Long Island regions of New York State. Applicants must show evidence of commitment to producing original choreography, in any dance genre.

The Latinx Project at New York University announces an open call for curatorial projects. Interested applicants are invited to submit specific proposals to be considered for an exhibition to be held in Spring 2026 and Spring 2027.

NYFA FELLOWSHIP

NYFA provides unrestricted grants of $8,000 to New York-based artists through the NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship program. First launched in 1985, the program has provided over $30 million to artists in 15 disciplines at critical stages in their creative development. Award disciplines for 2025 are; Architecture/Environmental Structures/Design, Choreography, Music/Sound, Photography, Playwriting/Screenwriting

LITERARY AWARD

The Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence is initiated by Donors of the Baton Rouge Aread Foundation to Honor Mr. Gaines. The award is designed to inspire, recognize rising African American writers of excellence as they work to achieve the literary heights for which Ernest J. Gaines is known. The Annual Award of $15,000 cash prize is to support and enable the writer to focus on writing.
