LITERARY PROZE

The PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers recognizes 12 emerging writers each year for their debut short story published in a literary magazine, journal, or cultural website, and aims to support the launch of their careers as fiction writers. The winning writers each receive a $2,000 cash prize and will be published by Catapult in their annual anthology, Best Debut Short Stories: The PEN America Dau Prize.

PRODUCTION GRANT

VIA Art Fund’s Artistic Production Grants are awarded twice annually to individual artists, nonprofit organizations, and institutions to support new artistic commissions that take place outside museum or gallery walls, within the public realm, or in nontraditional exhibition environments. Individual artists or producing organizations seeking production funding must have a confirmed exhibition venue or presenting partner.

SCULPTURE AWARD

The Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant is a prize of $5,000 sponsored by the National Sculpture Society. It is awarded annually to a sculptor who has demonstrated outstanding ability as a sculptor and who has created a body of work inspired by nature which includes works of sculpture in the round and in bas-relief.

BROOKLYN ARTS COUNCIL

Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) Grants strive to support local artists and small arts organizations whose work enhances the cultural climate of its borough, city, state, and nation. Opportunities include the Brooklyn Arts FundLocal Arts Support, the Creative Equations Fund, the Social Innovation Fellowship, and the Charlene Victor and Ella J, Weiss Cultural Entrepreneur Fund.

PUBLIC ART COMMISSION

More Art’s Engaging Artists Commission is an opportunity for early career artists focused on the incubation and commissioning of a public art project and carries an $8,000 award to realize the project, plus cuartorial, conceptual, budgetary, and logistical mentorship.

Combos Press is now accepting pitches for our first print issue of Nearest and Dearest: An anthology of dyke domesticity. Nearest and Dearest is a physical anthology of art and writing celebrating and archiving the experiences of domesticity amongst lesbians.

CURATORIAL FELLOWSHIP

The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) Longwood Arts Project seeks a Bronx-based Curatorial Fellow for a unique opportunity to assist with the implementation of the Longwood Art Gallery 2025 series of three exhibitions. The exhibitions will revolve around the theme “The World We Want to Live In” and examine art’s role in social and political movements – not only raising awareness, but also catalyzing public discourse and bringing new audiences into activism.

Queens Arts Fund (QAF) offers project-based grants to Queens-based artists, artist collectives, and small non-profit organizations to support the local production of artwork and cultural programs that highlight, engage, and bolster the diverse communities of the Queens borough.

VISUAL ARTS GRANT

The Tiny Grant offers $3,000 to emerging artists based in NYC. The program kicks off at the start of 2025 and runs through the end of June.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Yale’s Committee for Art Recognizing Enslavement (CARE) is seeking artists with experience in public art, socially engaged art, or participatory art to create artistic interventions, permanent and temporary, and related programming in New Haven to address Yale’s historical roles and associations with slavery and the slave trade as well as the legacy of that history.
