Features
Occupying a five story manufacturing building, Brown Bears Studios boasts large industrial windows in most of the studios with a unique number of soundproof spaces that are reserved for music professionals in the basement. With spaces ranging from 100sqft to 500sqft, our industrial building features 12-14ft high ceilings, slop sinks, natural light with some period features intact throughout.
There is no doubt the creative history of the building can’t be missed with exposed ceiling beams, industrial pipes and orignal wooden floors adding a richness to the general aesthetic and charm of this old manufacturing building.
Building History
Brown Bears Studio encourages music professionals to come make a home in our soundproof spaces and visual artists to create in our affordable, large, light filled spaces. Located in Brownsville, an area that has a history of producing music that moves and street art that uses huge outdoor brick walls as its canvas, Brown Bears Studio occupies a building with a long history of creativity by New Yorkers. Traditionally, the neighbourhood has a long history of manufacturing products such as food, furniture, and metals and our building is no exception with a history of millinery manufacturing.
