Casey Lin (she/her) is a sculptor and educator originally from Queens, NY. She is now based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and works as a teaching artist. Casey received her BFA in 2016 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is currently a 2026 MS Ed. Candidate at Bank Street College of Education. Lin’s artwork is rooted in the play of materials with the theme of childhood and the body. She mainly sculpts with craft materials as well as ceramics, metals and glass. Along with her sculpture practice, Lin uses her art education background by curating community workshops and exhibitions at local ceramics studios and community art spaces. Lin’s work has been exhibited in Chicago, Indiana, Milwaukee, New York City, Tennessee, Maine, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. You can find her pieces for sale at local businesses, including From Here To Sunday and Brooklyn Horticulture.

Jen Angulo Salguero

Latina painter and native New Yorker, Jen Angulo Salguero (b. 1979) works in various combinations of textiles, acrylic paint and ink, on felt, paper, and wood. Her work is informed by her childhood in New York’s Rockaway Beach, magical realism, US intervention in Latin America, memory versus mythology, and the dark sense of humor she considers her primary family inheritance.

ABOUT TEMPEST GALLERY

At TEMPEST, we want to talk about art in a maelstrom. We invite artists to be unafraid to broach difficult conversations and address colonial structures of violence through their practice in textiles, sculpture and installation. Our main desire is that each monthly show present layered themes where multiple cultural references intersect and tussle.

Launched in 2024, Tempest Gallery is located at Rockella Space’s One Eyed Studios in Ridgewood, Queens. Through our programming and events, we aim to create community and a space for gathering, presenting work and building relationships.

Please visit us at 1642 Weirfield Street, Ridgewood Queens, NY, during our regular gallery hours Wednesday-Saturday, 1-6pm.
