PERFORMANCE GRANT

Franklin Furnace awards grants annually to early career artists selected by peer panel review to enable them to produce major performance artworks in New York City. Fund grants range between $2,000 and $10,000 based on the peer review panel allocation of funding received by Franklin Furnace.

VISUAL ARTS AWARD

The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to a contemporary visual artist, who makes artwork for presentation in a contemporary art context: museums, galleries, arts non-profits, the public art realm, etc. The 15K awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose.

The Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Grant is awarded annually to under-recognized American painters over the age of 45 who demonstrate financial need.

The Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) and Galvan Initiatives (Galvan) launched  The Democracy Cycle, a new commissioning program designed to support new works that illuminate the promise, practice, imperfection, and opportunity of democracy.

The Shed supports selected projects with a commissioning fee of up to $15,000 of producing stewardship per artist or collective.

The Queens Museum (QM) is pleased to announce an open call for three Queens-based collaborators interested in learning about our collection of art and the local context of Queens. This project recognizes and uplifts diverse narratives, lived experiences, and forms of expertise.

Brooklyn Museum is hosting an open call for a forthcoming exhibition celebrating the Museum’s 200^th Anniversary. The Brooklyn Artists Exhibition is open to artists who have maintained primary residence and/or an art studio in Brooklyn during the past five years (2019–24).

Creative Capital welcomes innovative and original new project proposals in visual arts, performing arts, film/moving image, technology, literature, multidisciplinary, and socially engaged forms. SCULPTURE AWARD

National Sculpture Society‘s Dexter Jones Award grants $5,000 to a sculptor based on an outstanding work of sculpture in bas-relief. The use of figurative or realist sculpture or sculpture that is inspired by nature is of greatest interest. Applicants must have been born between 1984 and 2005 to be eligible.

WRITING SUBMISSIONS

Queer and trans people are invited to submit to the anthology, Meet Me There, Another Time: Letters to Places Queer and Trans People Left Behind. The prompt: Write a letter to a place you’ve had to leave to preserve your own sense of safety. No pieces will be turned away.

The Anonymous Was A Woman Environmental Art Grants (AWAW EAG) will distribute a total of $300,000 in funding—up to $20,000 per project—to support environmental art projects led by women-identifying artists in the United States and U.S. Territories.

Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden in Staten Island, New York, announced its open call for the Performing Arts Salon Saturdays (PASS) artist residency and performance program. This program will support the creation and development of new works in dance, music, theater, and multidisciplinary performance. Selected artists receive a $1,500 honorarium.

The National Academy of Design‘s Abbey Mural Prize awards grants to support the creation and restoration of public murals in the United States. Grants range from $10,000 to $40,000. Artists and organizations are eligible to apply.

CALL FOR ART

Canal Convergence seeks proposals for outdoor, temporary public artworks to be featured in and around the Arizona Canal at the Scottsdale Waterfront in Scottsdale, Arizona. Canal Convergence will be on view for 10 days, from Nov. 8–17, 2024.

VISUAL ARTS AWARD

The Grant for Visual Artists award provides direct support to under-recognised artists 21 years or older. Must be a US Citizen.

One New York City-based artist working in performance art will receive $10,000 to fund projects in performance, media, exhibition, and/or publication. The artist selected for the 2024 Jackie Apple grant must be a mid or late-career artist.
