PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY

The HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) provides a commission, developmental support, career planning, and an opportunity for a full production to cross-genre artists within a collaborative environment of peers working across disparate art forms. Each HARP artist receives $125,000 and services over 2-3 years to tailor each residency to each artist’s individual needs.

FELLOWSHIP

New America’s National Fellows Program invests in thinkers—journalists, scholars, filmmakers, and public policy analysts—who generate big, bold ideas that have an impact and spark new conversations about the most pressing issues of our day. Stipends generally fall between $15,000 and $30,000.

VISUAL ARTS GRANT

The Virginia A. Groot Foundation Grant was established so that ceramic sculpture artists or sculptors of diverse mediums may have the opportunity to devote a substantial period of time to the development of their work. The first-place grant is $60,000; the second-place grant is $30,000; the third-place grant is $20,000.

BANNER ARTWORK

The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum announces its third annual Open Call for Artist Banners. Emerging artists based in New York City and self-identifying as Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) are invited to submit designs for the Museum’s three outdoor banners, in response to the theme love and labor.

VISUAL ARTS GRANT

Café Royal Cultural Foundation NYC will award an exhibition/project grant to New York City artists creating paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photographs. Artists in all genres of visual arts are eligible to apply. The award amount is up to $10,000.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY

The Hybrid Arts Lab is a program supporting trans, non-binary, and women artists working at the intersection of performance and technology. This support includes a $5,000 stipend, creation and exhibition space, technical resources, training, and mentorship for the exploration, development, and expansion of their practice and new artwork.

BANNER ARTWORK

In collaboration with the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT), CHASHAMA is accepting applications from artists looking to promote themselves in a public setting. Artists will be asked to print a large vinyl artwork at their own cost, covering a section of the windows alongside other artwork. 

DEADLINE: February 12th, 2024

PROPOSAL FOR ARTWORK

Wormfarm Institute will commission original artworks for the Farm/Art DTour in Sauk County, Wisconsin. Proposals from artists who are interested in creating works that engage with the landscape, farmers, landowners, and surrounding rural communities are encouraged. Selected artists will receive a stipend ranging from $5,000 – $10,000.

FELLOWSHIP

Forge Project offers six Indigenous artists, scholars, organizers, cultural workers, researchers, or educators will each receive $25,000, full access to the Forge Project site, libraries, and a lending collection of living Indigenous artists during a residency stay of up to three weeks

FILMMAKER AWARD

The Sony Future Filmmaker Awards are aimed at breakthrough artists and independent filmmakers worldwide. The shortlisted filmmakers are flown to Los Angeles for a four-day event gaining insight into all aspects of the filmmaking process, followed by a four-day workshop program. There are six categories: fiction, nonfiction, environment, animation, student, and future format.

EXHIBITION OR PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY

CHASHAMA is seeking proposals for both visual arts exhibitions and live performances for a window display on 37th st.

FILMMAKER GRANT

This partnership between Netflix and NewFest supports emerging LGBTQ+ filmmakers. Four filmmakers with documentary, narrative, animated or episodic projects by and about the LGBTQ+ community will each receive a $25,000 grant.

OPPORTUNITY FOR COMPOSERS

The New Jersey Symphony is now accepting applications for the tenth annual Edward T. Cone Composition Institute. Winning composers will have their music performed by the New Jersey Symphony and will participate in in-depth career development sessions with industry leaders.

The Sculpture Center is seeking applicants for its 2025 Revealed Emerging Artist Series. Early career artists of the greater Ohio region (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, western New York, or Ontario, Canada by birth, residency, or education, but need not be currently residing in the area) whose practice includes sculpture, installation, mixed and expanded media, relational aesthetics, and performance are eligible to apply.
