VISUAL ARTS GRANT

The NOT REAL ART Grant for Artists is a $12,000 annual award designed to empower the practice of 6 contemporary artists, each receiving $2,000.

ART FAIR

NADA is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 10th edition of NADA New York, to take place May 2–5, 2024 at 548 West, located at 548 West 22nd Street in Chelsea.

PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE

The Aperture Portfolio Prize aims to identify trends in contemporary photography and highlight artists whose work deserves greater recognition. When choosing the first prize winner and finalists, Aperture’s editorial staff looks for innovative bodies of work that haven’t been widely seen in major publications or exhibition venues.

COMMISSION

CHASHAMA, in partnership with the MTA is calling for proposals for a window display. All 2D and 3D artworks are considered. Artwork must be appropriate for all ages and pass fireproofing standards.

VISUAL ARTS GRANT

The Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) invites NYC-based artists who will be selected as project awardees. Each artist will receive $1,500 to create and carry out ideas to engage, aid, and care for the Asian New Yorker community with a focus on Chinatown, Manhattan; Flushing, Queens; and Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The project engagements must be completed within four months (February 1–June 2, 2024).

PLAYWRIGHT AWARD

All emerging women, trans, and non-binary playwrights are eligible to apply to win a cash prize of $5,000, and a public reading and summer workshop as part of the Powerhouse Theater Program at Vassar College.

EMERGENCY GRANT

Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grant program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need* who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography.

Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) invites Bronx artists from all disciplines and independent curators to submit their proposals for the FY2025 Exhibition Season. This upcoming season’s theme is “The World We Want To Live In.”

PRODUCTION GRANT

MAAF provides support for the completion and/or public presentation of new works in all genres of sound and moving image art, including emergent technology. Grant awards assist artists in completing new work, reaching public audiences, and advancing artistic exploration and public engagement in the media arts.

VISUAL ARTS GRANT

The Gottlieb Foundation wishes to encourage artists who have dedicated their lives to developing their art, regardless of their level of commercial success. Grants are available only to individual painters, sculptors, and printmakers who have worked in a mature phase of art for 20 years or more.

VISUAL ARTS GRANT

En Foco’s Media Arts Fund: Work in Progress (WIP) Initiative is a grant to support New York City based, early-career artists of color who engage with digital media technologies in their art-making processes. In collaboration with BronxNet, these $2,000 awards will focus on applicants needing support for the completion of a quality work in progress, as determined by a panel of professionals.

The Recharge New Surrealist Prize is a $7,000 award for painters who are working in the New Surrealist Style and living in the United States and/or U.S. Territories. The award, formerly known as the Recharge Foundation Fellowship for New Surrealist Art, is administered by NYFA, with funding provided by the Gu Family of the Recharge Foundation

TECH FELLOWSHIP

The Social Science Research Council is seeking applicants for the third cohort of the Just Tech Fellowship. This fellowship supports and mobilizes diverse and cross-sector cohorts of practitioners to imagine and create more just, equitable, and representative technological futures. Fellows have committed to identifying and challenging injustices emerging from new technologies and pursuing solutions that advance social, political, and economic rights.
